Thank you for your interest in our Community-Supported Agriculture
program!
We do not offer CSA shares in the summertime.
We offer whatever is available, including fruit, eggs,
honey and herbs and tilapia, by prepaid order only, from late May to October.
We send out emails approximately every 3 weeks, letting
you know what's available for that week, with the link to the order form. You
can pick up your order at one of two places- on the farm, and in Coral Gables at
Theine Tea Salon.
The order form is not
accessible from the website, so you must be on our mailing list. Please make sure you're on the mailing
list so we can take your order. Get added
here. (If you're a current or past CSA member, you're
already on our email list, but please be sure we have your current email
address).
The 2008
summer fruit report as of mid-July:
 |
Our avocado harvest is nearly
finished, but other, later varieties of avocados will continue to be
available through the fall from our other partner farms. |
 |
The ciruela (hog plums or mombins)
harvest was great this year and we sold out. |
 |
Mameys are already bearing-expect fruit through
September or October. |
 |
Guavas are starting to size
up- expect them around September (but they may be hit with fruit
flies). |
 |
Jakfruit are starting to size
up and ripen. They'll be available on and off for several months. Most are
very large, so unless you want to purchase a whole one, you can only get
them in chunks as ripe (dessert) fruit. |
 |
There was a small lychee
harvest, and it looks like there will be even fewer longans. |
 |
Sapodillas are bearing |
 |
Canistels (eggfruit) have
blooms and small fruit. This is a funny plant- you can find a tree in fruit
somewhere in South Florida at pretty much any time of year, but a particular
tree will bear at the same time every year. |
 |
The black sapotes are full of
baby fruit- expect them to start ripening in December. |
 |
Bananas & plantains are doing well.
We'll offer them when we have enough ripening at one time. |
 |
Mangos have peaked. There are
still some around, but not too many. |
 |
Carambolas bore
several times this past fall and winter, and they've been resting. We're
starting to see some blooms. |
